While Act Together Ministries primarily operates as a children’s charity, we also meet the needs in our community as they arise. In the past, we have operated food pantries, hosted community Thanksgiving dinners, and assisted with disaster relief. As the numbers affected by COVID-19 continue to rise, we are stepping up to assist as we are able.
What We are Doing:
Meals for hospital workers and nursing home workers
Masks for foster children
Collecting and distributing needed supplies
Preparing care packages
Support for the elderly

Organize a Drive- Volunteers are needed to organize drives within the community. Items needed include: hand sanitizer, masks, gloves, liquid hand soap, etc. Items will need to be dropped off in Woodstock or Alpharetta.
Assemble Care Packages- Get your office, school group, or Sunday school class involved. We are collecting care packages for nurses and seniors. For nurses, the care packages can include lotion, chocolates, prepackaged snacks, hand sanitizer, a mask, small candle, encouraging notes, etc. For seniors, the care package could include lotion, chocolates, puzzles, prepackaged snacks, inspirational books, coloring books with crayons, encouraging notes, etc. Plan to spend $20 per care package. Care packages will need to be dropped off in Woodstock or Alpharetta.
Make Masks- We are collecting masks for foster children and healthcare workers. Masks in all sizes are needed. Children especially love the fun masks with characters or other cute pictures. Please watch this video for guidelines from one of our local hospitals. Masks will need to be dropped off in Woodstock or Alpharetta.
Provide a Meal for Healthcare Workers- Our local hospital workers are exhausted and could use our support. Your financial support also helps keep restaurants in business and provides employment for local restaurant workers. Please see below for how your donation of $50-100 can provide a meal for our healthcare workers. Also, consider getting a team of people together to provide a meal for hospital workers and local nursing homes dealing with an outbreak.
Volunteer Your Time- Act Together Ministries is looking for volunteers to help transport items and food during the pandemic. Volunteers are needed in the North Fulton, Cherokee, and Forsyth areas.
Volunteer Virtually- Volunteers are also needed to assist with phone calls from home.
Call An Isolated Senior- Most nursing homes are not allowing visitors during the pandemic and our senior citizens are struggling with loneliness. Could you give an hour of your time to chat over the phone with a lonely senior? Register below to be matched with a senior who could use a friend during these challenging times.
Get Your Children Involved:
Part of the mission of Act Together Ministries is to inspire the next generation to serve by providing opportunities for families to volunteer together. The best way for children to develop a heart for others is to serve alongside their parents. Many of the opportunities listed above are family friendly. Organize a drive together in your neighborhood- your children can make and distribute flyers, decorate a collection box, and sort the donations. Consider assembling care packages together- your children can make cards to encourage our seniors and healthcare workers. Children are also welcome to help transport items with their parents.
