Without our volunteers, we wouldn’t have the impact we have in the community. Each month, Act Together Ministries recognizes one volunteer as our Volunteer of the Month.
Jenni Armbrust from Alpharetta (August 2012)- Jenni Armbrust did a wonderful job organizing the haircut team at Tools 4 School. Jenni is a new volunteer with Act Together and she distributed fliers, called salons, and made sure everything ran smoothly at the event. Jenni also asked her friends and family members to donate money to Act Together in lieu of gifts for her wedding. What a blessing Jenni is!
Heather Mitchell from Snellville (July 2012)- Heather organized a team of volunteers from her church,First Baptist Snellville. The team painted a bedroom for one of our foster kids. Thank you Heather!
Monica Herzog from Norcross (June 2012)- Monica is kindly providing summer tutoring for a few of our children in Gwinnett County. We are thankful for Monica’s expertise and her giving heart. Thank you Monica!
Joanna Jones of Roswell (May 2012)- Joanna has organized a diaper drive, sponsored children for birthdays and Christmas, provided gifts to single moms on Valentine’s day, and given food to hungry children. Thank you Joanna!
John Henkel of Alpharetta (April 2012)- John donated his 11th birthday to Act Together. For his birthday, he asked that all party guests bring money to give to the ministry in lieu of gifts. He donated $100 to Act Together.
Brooke Turbyfill of Johns Creek (March 2012)- Brooke organized a book drive to benefit the ministry children. She even brought a table to Spring Fling and personally handed out the books.
Sarah Goad of Cumming (December 2011)- Sarah served as one of Santa’s helpers during the Christmas season. She collected gifts, picked up and delivered gifts from multiple locations and even spoke to a group of 1st graders about serving others.
Kim Dowd of Johns Creek (November 2011)- Kim served as a leader at Act Together’s Community Thanksgiving dinner. She cleaned and did the tasks no one else wanted to do. She stayed until everything was clean and was the last one to leave.
Stan Schmidt of Snellville (October 2011)- Stan helps with home repairs and is always willing to help in any way needed. At our Family Fun Festival, he filled the back of his truck with hay and provided hay rides for the kids throughout the event.
Steve Armbrust of Alpharetta (August 2011)- Steve serves as the church liaison for Christ the Shepherd. Steve played a major role in planning and organizing Tools 4 School.
Ashley Borrego of Doraville (July 2011)- Ashley spoke on the radio on behalf of Act Together. Ashley also serves on our prayer team.
Robert Covington of Norcross (June 2011)- Robert Covington Robert has been with Act Together from the beginning. He works endless hours to help the ministry; most of what he does is behind the scenes.
Dave Prall of Johns Creek (May 2011)- Dave is launching our youth mentoring program. He is working hard to interview candidates and match kids with mentors.
Mary Galloway of Norcross (April 2011)- Mary ran our work mentoring program this spring for out of work mothers.
