Act Together offers a few programs to educate children: both volunteer children and children served by our ministry. In addition, we offer a college internship program.
At the end of the summer, Act Together kicks off the school year with our Tools 4 School event. At this event, the children receive school supplies, haircuts, medical and dental screening. In addition the families enjoy an afternoon together with games, crafts, and food.
Not only do children need school supplies, but they also need incentives to encourage them to succeed and make the most of their education. Because of partnerships with local businesses and generous donations from our community, Act Together is able to reward at-risk children for academic success. Education is often the key out of many of the situations children in distress find themselves in.
Volunteer service projects set up specifically for children under age 12. These projects are set up for children in the community to serve other children. Most Little Hands projects include a short lesson about God’s love and serving others. These projects are less than 2 hours to account for short attention spans.
